What are your thoughts on the Twilight saga?  OK for Christians to see or not?

has any one stopped and thought about twilight and harry potter in the context that the authors were women that have never wrote before but got the vision of the book in a dream... satan in the beginning got to the man through the woman, she is the weaker of the two. and more emotionally based... just thought i would throw that idea out there, idolatry comes in many forms and are used in todays society... is twilight bad, no more than other movies that promote teens to object the parents advice and follow your heart... the bible says "the heart is wicked"... just some thoughts on the subject...

              Quoted:
              Spooky Parallels

… the Twilight saga received its initial spark when Stephenie Meyer had an unusual dream on June 1, 2003. Eerily, the Harry Potter phenomenon began with a similar ‘revelation' given to Joanne Rowling in 1990 while she was traveling by train outside of London. "The character of Harry Potter just popped into my head, fully formed," Rowling reflected in 2001. "Looking back, it was all quite spooky!" She also stated to inquiring media that the Potter books "almost wrote themselves." "My best ideas often come at midnight," Rowling declared.

As with Rowling, so with Meyers. When those mesmerizing tales first burst into the brains of these two women, neither was an established writer. Both were novices. They weren't rich either. Now they are millionaires many times over. Their experiences are similar, with common threads. Both of their novels are permeated with occultism. Based on this, it's appropriate to wonder, is there a supernatural source behind these revelations? If so, what is it?

Stephenie Meyer herself provides an amazing clue to the answer. After her unexpected rise to stardom, she later confessed,

I actually did have a dream after Twilight was finished of Edward coming to visit me - only I had gotten it wrong and he did drink blood like every other vampire and you couldn't live on animals the way I'd written it. We had this conversation and he was terrifying.

It is very hard for me to say that Christians should not see it because I am not blameless in the area of watching "bad" stuff, but I will say that Twilight" disturbs my spirit. Vampires are of the occult and Twilight entices people to think of Vampires as cool and interesting.
Vampirism - look it up. Another way to keep people away from God.

It depends on the mind of the reader. An intelligent person will realize that fictional novels are meant for entertainment purposes. If a person is drawn away from God because of a book they read, then that's a fault of that person, not the author. The novel Twilight is not about Satan, although the storyline is a little on the dark side. Dark does not necessarily mean satanic. Anyway, a person weak in faith may be led away from God by reading Twilight or Harry Potter. I cannot see how, as they are ficticious.
